Romans 8:38-39 – “I am sure that nothing can separate us from God’s love—not life or death, not angels or spirits, not the present or the future, and not powers above or powers below. Nothing in all creation can separate us from God’s love for us in Christ Jesus our Lord!”

 

WHY DOES THIS SCRIPTURE PROVE TO ME THERE IS ETERNAL SALVATION?

 

                This scripture proves to me there is eternal salvation because absolutely nothing can separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus.  When people of other religions, denominations and cults claim that you can lose your salvation, they are saying that there becomes a separation from God.  The scripture above clearly lets me know that that is not true. 

                Once we believe in Jesus Christ and accept Him as our personal savior then we become more than conquerors and nothing can separate us from God’s love.  It also says is verse 32 that “God did not keep back His own Son, but He gave Him for us.  If God did this, won’t He freely give us everything else?”  He gave up His Son so that we can have eternal salvation. 

                The magnitude of God’s love is beyond our level of comprehension.  All we need to do is believe in Jesus.  If we look at the examples of what cannot separate us from God’s love in verse 38, you will see that everything listed is beyond our control.  Life, death, angels, spirits, the present, the future, powers above, and powers below.  Those are things that we can’t control but yet they cannot separate us from God’s love.  I don’t know about you, but that sounds like eternal salvation to me!
