CAN I REALLY KNOW GOD?
The answer is a definitive YES!!! Some have mistakenly believed
because mankind is imperfect and sinful that we can never know a perfect and Holy God. That is so far from
the truth. We all have an opportunity to know Him in a personal way.
1. To know God is to love Him because He first loved us.
2. To know God is to accept His plan of salvation through His Son Jesus Christ.
3. To know God is to know His Word which is the Bible.
4. To know God is to fellowship with Him through prayer and supplication.
5. To know God is to submit to His will.
God has provided a way to get to know Him through His Son, Jesus
Christ. Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the
Father except through Me.”—John 14:6 When sin entered into the world through Adam, we were
separated from God rendering us incapable of knowing Him personally and experiencing His love. We were
created to have fellowship with God, but because of our sins, we were and are prevented from that fellowship.
This created a gulf between us and God. The only way to bridge this gulf is through Jesus Christ.
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish
but have everlasting life.”—John 3:16
There had to be a divine sacrifice for us to be reconciled back
to God. Jesus is the only One who was Holy enough and perfect enough to meet that requirement.
The love of our God is so perfect, that it can override our sins. “But God demonstrates His
own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”—Romans 5:8
Once we’ve
accepted Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, we are able to fellowship with Him. The more time we spend in reading and studying
God’s Word and praying, the more we will know about His character. The more we know about Him, the
more obedient we will become to His will. “If you love Me, keep my commandments.”—John
14:15 If we willing obey Him, we can have a personal intimate relationship with Him and therefore get to
know a Holy and perfect God.
So if you want to know God, accept His Son Jesus Christ as your personal Savior.
Repent of your sinful lifestyle. Spend time in His Word. Pray without ceasing.
Submit your will to God’s will. Stop living in rebellion and making excuses for the sin in
your life. You know when you’re not living right. Don’t make excuses for
the sin in your life. REPENT NOW!!! Ask God to give you the courage to make the necessary
changes in your life, so you can be more pleasing to Him. Remember change can happen instantly, if you
allow God to change you and your desires.
